INTRODUCTION
The Centre for Equestrian Documentation at the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art Foundation was created to support the Foundation's mission and objectives: the preservation and promotion of equestrian art. To do so, it has established a range of information functions, services and products that ensure access to information and documentation.

Its objectives can be summarised as follows:
  • To be an efficient and enduring resource for equestrian knowledge.
  • To be a repository of information on equestrian art.
  • To establish itself as a promotional vehicle for equestrian art.
  • To strengthen research that will help promote and increase awareness of equestrian art.

SERVICES
A range of services designed to meet user requirements has been created in order to allow access to information. These are provided free of charge and in all possible mediums, both in the flesh and online. They are the following:

Reading Room:
This service offers users the chance to access the document collection. The reading room has 4 desks for bibliographic, hemerographic and graphic documentation, and another 4 for consulting electronic materials.

Viewing Service:
The Centre has two equipments and a projection room for viewing audiovisual and multimedia material.

Document Acquisition:
The Document Acquisition Service locates and supplies original documents or copies thereof, which are not available for consultation at the Centre facilities for one month.

Bibliographic and Reference Information:
This provides all sorts of information relating to the organisation and operation of the Centre, as well as details on other centres or specialist information systems, etc. Information on books, magazines and a wide range of documents, about authors, editors, etc. is also covered.

Specialist Bibliographic Searches:
This service allows users to search for specialist information and obtain bibliographic references. It also provides information and technical assistance in using the catalogues and databases.

Desiderata:
Any user may suggest the acquisition of a particular document relating to the Centre's materials.

Online Consultancy:
Simply e-mail for specific queries.


COLLECTION
The freely accessible document collection is available in different languages and comprises materials in all areas. It also offers users the opportunity to gain far deeper insights into equestrian art.

The Centre of Documentation's collection is formed of monographs, periodicals, graphic material and audiovisual material.

CATALOGUE
The catalogue collates all automated collections from the Centre of Documentation and is accessible via the Internet. It contains records of all materials whatever their type and field: monographs, videos, magazines, photographs, magazine articles, course documentation, posters, reports, etc.

The Centre for Equestrian Documentation is part of the Specialist Information and Documentation Network of the Council for Tourism, Commerce and Sport and shares an automated cataloguing system with other centres on the network.
