SPECIALIST TRAINING COURSES

These educational initiatives are aimed at perpetuating the equestrian tradition and preparing future professionals in horsemanship, offering a type of training that combines theory with practical elements.

HORSEMANSHIP

This course is designed to instruct pupils in horse riding principles. The integrated training allows development both in the sporting arena and competition, as well as in artistic horse riding.

The School takes pride in its wide experience in teaching horse riding and in its privileged facilities. It has a didactic team with an exceptional track record in competition, as well as Purebred Spanish horses and sporting horses for practising various disciplines.

CARRIAGE DRIVING

This course is oriented towards training the student in carriage techniques, both in competitive sport and recreation.

The specific technical training elements are complemented by aspects of hypology, morphology and functionality in the carriage horse, as well as history, etc. At the end of the course, the pupil will also have acquired skills in equipment maintenance, knowledge of theoretical and practical horse riding and how to take care of and maintain the horse and stables.

SADDLERY

This training speciality provides pupils with the knowledge they need to make and repair different saddlery items for horse riding and maintaining carriages. It also enables them to learn about the tools and materials, and to apply specific techniques and procedures.

A combination of both theory and practical knowledge is offered at the Royal School’s saddlery workshop. Information about saddlery techniques, hypology and the history of the horse and carriage is provided.

EQUINE CLINICAL ASSISTANT

This course covers basic horse care in terms of hygiene, preventive medicine and first aid.

More specifically, elements of the course range from assisting the vet in clinical tasks and in medical emergencies, first aid, preparing the animals for pre- and post-operative and in the maintenance of the clinical facilities in terms of hygiene, disinfection and asepsis of the facilities and of the equipment. Advice and information on planning and managing the daily workload at an equestrian clinic are also offered.

STABLE HAND

We aim to equip the pupil with the necessary knowledge to manage and take care of the equine livestock, as well as to use and maintain the facilities and equipment. To create a more well-rounded course adapted to market requirements, the pupil is also instructed in dressage and training techniques.
