The Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre has inaugurated the exhibition “Arquitectura andalusí: espacios y miradas”, a photographic showcase that highlights the rich architectural legacy of Al-Andalus and its lasting influence on the cultural landscape of the Iberian Peninsula.
Organized by the El Legado Andalusí Foundation, the exhibition features 38 large-format photographs displayed in the A-B-C Gallery of the Álvaro Domecq Indoor Arena. The exhibition will remain open to visitors until 13 September.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of Andalusia’s cultural and heritage institutions, including María del Mar Sánchez, Secretary General for Historical and Documentary Heritage; Tania Barcelona, Territorial Delegate for Tourism, Culture and Sport in Cádiz; Francisco Delgado, Delegate for Economy, Finance and Public Funding of Jerez City Council; María de la Concepción de Santa Ana Fernández, Managing Director of the El Legado Andalusí Foundation; and Rafael Olvera, Director of the Royal Andalusian School.
Through a carefully curated selection of images depicting monuments, palaces, fortresses, mosques, towers and other emblematic sites throughout Andalusia, the exhibition explores the extraordinary architectural heritage left by centuries of cultural exchange between the Arab and Iberian worlds. The collection includes some of the region’s most iconic landmarks and invites visitors to discover the artistic, historical and cultural richness that continues to shape Andalusia’s identity.
This initiative aims to promote the appreciation, preservation and dissemination of Andalusia’s historical heritage, while fostering a deeper understanding of the diverse cultural influences that have contributed to its unique character.
